Description from record TQ 55 NW 19 :
(TQ 5228 5927) Broughton Manor (NR). (2) Broughton Manor, Otford, is a 16th c. manor house with older foundations and 18th c. additions. (3) "Broughton Manor" is a mainly 18th c. house incorporating at its S.E. corner the remains of a 16th c. timber building and a probably older external chimney stack in stone: the whole was considerably restored some 50 years ago and is of little architectural interest. Hasted (a) does not list Broughton as a manor, neither does a deed dated 1554 transferring the property from the crown to Sand Polly alias Polhill. (b) Some ancient stocks in the garden inscribed with the date 1671 are from another (unknown) village in Kent and were erected by the restorer of some 50 years ago. GP AO/64/116/5.
