Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5281 SANDGATE ROAD (North West Side) Williams and Glyns Bank TR 2235 NW 5/253 No 132 II 2. Circa 1890 in the style of the Grand and New Metropole Hotels. 2 storeys red brick with buff tiled dressings. Green slate roof. The front elevation has a corner octagonal turret. No 132 has a 3-light canted bay through all floors and a modern shop front. The Bank has a Venetian window to the first floor and a cambered window to the ground floor. The left side elevation has 3 dormers having double sashes with modern curved pediments above. 2 octagonal turrets decorated with wreaths. 2 paired cambered sashes, a Venetian window and 3 small, round-headed lights. String- courses between floors. Plinth. Doorcase set in corner with balustrading above 'and rusticated Tuscan columns. Another doorcase with plain brick pilasters having tiled capitals.
William and Glyns Bank No 132 shall be amended to read : 132 134 Williams and Glyns Bank No 134A
