5/191 Smezzle Farm

Farmhouse, now house. C17 or earlier. Timber framed. Front elevation pebbledashed. Left gable end red brick in Flemish bond to both floors, with midrail (extending into lean-to), tension brace towards front of gable end, and exposed end of front wall-plate. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Steeply- pitched hipped roof with gablets. Multiflue red brick stack slightly left of centre. Regular 2-window front of multipane three-light casements. Similar ground-floor windows with segmental heads. Plain door with segmental head under stack. Short two-storey pebbledashed rear return wing to right. Rear lean-to to left, with single-storey pebbledashed section with stack, at right-angles towards left end. Interior not inspected. Marked on O.S. map as Smersole.
