The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HARBOUR STREET 1. 5283 (South West Side) BROADSTAIRS No 18 (York Gate House and the Broadstairs Entertainment Department Office) TR 3967 NE 1/109 II
2. This consists of 2 distinct parts. The north portion, York Gate House, is early to mid C19. 2 storeys. The front elevation is faced with flint with white brick dressings. The site elevation is stuccoed. 1 3-light bay on the 1st floor. The ground floor has 1 cambered casement with red brick dressings and 1 sash with glazing bars intact. This part of the building is built into the York Gate. The south part of the building, the Broadstairs Entertainment Department Office, is Edwardian Neo-Georgian. 3 storeys and attics red brick. Mansard tiled roof with 3 hipped dormers. The 2nd floor has 2 sashes and a central Venetian window with a curved balcony under. The 1st floor has 3 5-light bays with pilasters between. The ground floor has modified Venetian windows and simple doorcase.
