Listed Building record TR 26 NE 1073 - OUTBUILDING ABOUT 20 METRES SOUTH OF CHAMBERS WALL FARMHOUSE

Summary

Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1350 to 1499. The remains of a chapel of uncertain age are located at Chambers Wall to the north west of St. Nicholas at Wade. The chapel was surveyed in 1999 in advance of restoration. There is surviving masonry and some medieval features were recorded including a small water pool (piscina) with pointed arch in the north wall. The chapel was used as a domestic house in the 17th century when the south wall was replaced by timber framing.
