Lower / middle Palaeolithic handaxes and debitage from the Boxley area, held by the British Museum (Wellcome Collection, Burchell Collection, de Crawshay Collection, and Fenton Collection) (1, 2, 3). A "Sand Pit" near Cobtree Hall (TQ 74740 58410) may have been the source of some of the finds (2, p127). The finds were re-examined as part of the Medway Valley Palaeolithic Project in 2005 (4).
