Summary

A 25-30m diameter ring ditch cropmark was identified at the site during studies of aerial photography and magnetometry geophysics. The feature was later investigated via archaeological evaluation and was revealed to be Neolithic in date.

Full Description

Ring ditch with blob and linear feature nearby. (1) (TR 02305455 and TR 02305465) Cropmarks of ring ditches were seen on an aerial survey of 1974. (2)

A 25-30m diameter ring ditch cropmark was identified at the site during studies of aerial photography and magnetometry geophysics. The feature was later investigated via archaeological evaluation and revealed to potentially date from the Neolithic period due to the presence of Neolithic pottery in the fills of the ditch. Report not seen by HER so no further information. (4)
