Full Description
There was also a curving linear cut of unknown date. There were also several possible stake holes also of uncertain date.
Another indeteminate cut produced no dating evidence. This had been cut by a shallow feature which was filled by two deposits containing small fragments of burnt clay.
About 30 (sooted) potsherds of shelly-sandy ware dated to AD1200 to 1225/50 were found lying flat at the interface between the lens of carbon and an overlying deposit which sealed it. This is the only datable piece of evidence found. (1)
