Full Description

(TR 15025769). Two medieval cess pits containing 11th-14th century pottery were found and two other pits containing 14th century pottery in three small trenches cut in 1951 south-west of St George's Street, just east of Mark's and Spencer's store. In the later 14th century a house was built above these pits. Four late 17th or 18th century pits were noted. (1)
