Full Description
The cropmarks of a goal post or staple enclosure. Identified from aerial photographs. Three sides of small rectilinear enclosure. (1)
An enclosure forming part of a settlement of Medieval date was visible as a cropmark in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012. Its east and west ends were visible, suggesting it was about 67.3m by 33.7m on plan, with a possibly original opening in the east end. There was a pit in the interior, to the west end.
The enclosure is located on the north side of a trackway that is now a public footpath. This feature was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2)
