TR 293692. Cropmark of an enclosure. Cropmarks show a large rectangular enclosure framed by narrow ditches. (1-3)

The cropmark traces of a large sub-rectangular ditched enclosure visible on CUCAP AAW97 13-JUN-1960,Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012 andEARTH.GOOGLE.COM 03-2022. ACCESSED 19-APR-2024 aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet Landscape mapping project in 2024. The site also appears as a cropmark on a number of Cambridge University photographs, but these were inaccessible at the time of this survey. The main enclosure is defined by a single ditch with straight sides and angular corners. The enclosure tapers slightly towards the south-western end, measuring 168m N-S and ranging from 160m to 197m E-W. There is an inner ditch within the southern side and traces of internal divisions and numerous pits. The internal enclosures and ditches appear less angular and geometric, possibly pre-dating the outer enclosure (4-6).
