Work associated with the A20 road and sewer scheme, at the York Street roundabout, revealed possible traces of the Medieval Snar Gate. The Medieval town wall was clearly located during the work undertaken in this area. Alongside this another area or Medieval masonry, situated just to the north of the town wall may represent part of the Medieval Snar Gate, though this was not ascertained with any certainty. (2)
