Full Description
During an excavation in 2007 by Wessex Archaeology, a pit with sherds from at least four Beakers was found; one of the Beakers was of Clarke’s East Anglian group. The pit was oval, 0.9m-1.1m across and 0.37m deep. It also contained part of a saddle quern and 57 worked flints, including an end scraper. It therefore is thought to date to the very end of the 3rd or early 2nd millennium BC. (1)
These excavations are collated and summarised in a January 2015 'Publication Report' by CgMs. The report makes concluding interpretations of the different phases of occupation at the site but these are far too detailed to summarise here. See Source Ref for further information. (2)
