Full Description
An excavation that took place over a wide area ahead of road works at junction 2 of the A2/A282. A number of archaeological features were uncovered dating from the neolithic to modern (world war two) eras. In the south-eastern quadrant of the site (area D) five pits were attributed to the early Neolithic due to pottery found within. Said pottery has Mildenhall Ware affinities and dates from c. 3700-3300 BC. All pits were relatively small and shallow. (1)
