Full Description
An excavation that took place over a wide area ahead of road works at junction 2 of the A2/A282. A number of archaeological features were uncovered dating from the Neolithic to modern (World War Two) era. This feature was uncovered in the north east quadrent of the A2/A282 excavation and is considered to be of the same phase as other features else where (namely the horseshoe shaped anclosure, pit and tree throw form area C). The hollow contained a scatter of charcoal and burnt flint, a Bronze Age copper alloy awl and a collection of worked flint. The hollow measured c. 30m x 20m and was 0.8m deep at its maximum. (1)
