Summary

Second World War light anti-aircraft battery (VD3) on a hillock NW of the A2/M25 interchange, Dartford, Kent. It consisted of 1 quad mounted Vickers pompom and 1 Hispano-Suiza gun. It is first mentioned in a document of 1942. As one of a group of batteries it was probably part of an encircling defence for the Brooklands Vickers factory a short distance NW. Its date of removal is unknown. Remains of gun pits from the battery were found by Oxford Archaeology when excavating at the site in 2006.
