Full Description

A rectilinear enclosure visible as a cropmark in the 1990 aerial photos, to the west of Acol. It is less visible in aerial photos of 2003 and 2008. It measures 50m x 38m. (1)

An enclosure and trackways forming part of a settlement of Medieval date were visible as cropmarks in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012.

The sub-square enclosure measures about 60m by 48.7m on plan and is sub-divided. It appears to have an entrance in the north-west corner. Fragments of trackways are visible as cropmarks to the north-east side. The main enclosure includes a smaller enclosure within its southern half, measuring about 21.5m by 19.5m on plan with an opening in the west side.

These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2)
