Full Description

Part of a rectilinear enclosure, with internal features and an antennae. Located at TR 3935 6920.

A rectilinear cropmark feature with a number of internal and external linear features. The date and function of these is unknown. Identified from aerial photographs. RCHME AP. (1-2)

A resistivity survey carried out by Isle of Thanet Archaeological Society confirmed it is an enclosure [date, extent and full findings of survey unknown]. (3)

Enclosures forming part of a settlement of Iron Age/Roman date were visible as cropmarks in NMR 1661/282 16-JUL-1979. An arc of a possible hut circle was also visible as a cropmark, amongst the western side of the enclosure complex. Numerous small pits were visible as cropmarks in the eastern area of the enclosures. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (4)
