Pottery from thesite ranged from the 12th-14th century A.D. (3)

Late medieval settlement within ditched enclosure sampled in 1982. This may be an industrial complex of sorts, or the remains of the manor of "Upper Court". Massive foundations of rammed chalk, flints, and worked stone were observed here again in 1988. (4) Cropmarks of an incomplete rectilinear medieval enclosure located at TR 3532 6566 visible on aerial photographs and confirmed through excavation. The remains appear as three perpendicular ditches forming three sides of a rectangular enclosure measuring 40m across and at least 38m north-south. The northern side cannot be discerned.(4-5)

Elements of the settlement enclosure's boundary ditches and interior features were visible as cropmarks in EARTH.GOOGLE.COM 03-2022 (accessed 05-02-2024). These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (6)
