Summary

Ditches and early Iron Age pottery found at the site of a cropmark of a suspected barrow feature. The ditches and pottery dated to the early Iron Age c.400BC and were found between Broadley Road and Millmead flats. The site has since been built over.

Full Description

(TR 37476947) Cropmark of ring ditch. (1) TR 375695. Cropmark of Bronze Age barrow, now built over. (2) (TR) 374695. Ditches and pottery of early IA c400BC were found between Broadley Road and Millmead flats. (3) Additional single-ditched, ring ditch cropmarks at TR 3749 6949 and TR 3741 6944. (4)

A ring ditch, likely representing the remians of a Bronze Age barrow, is visible as a cropmark on NMR 1661/263 16-JUL-1979. The feature is located in a field (not built over). The feature was mapped as part of the Thanet Landscape Mapping Project. (5)
