Full Description

Archaeology South-East conducted archaeological work at The Mill-works, Brasted in 2007-2008. Targeted excavation in the southern part of the site during January 2008 followed on from geoarchaeological and archaeological evaluation across the whole site.

Five pits located at the Millworks, Brasted. Two were dated to 14th-15th century, both were sub-circular and had no datable evidence other than a fragment of peg tile. There use is unknown, but may have been for domestic use since they are lcoated in the back plots of Medieval properties. One pit was dated to the 19th-20th century. The other two were undated, mainly because no finds were produced from them. (1-2)
