Resistivity survey and subsequent excavation undertaken by Maidstone Area Archaeological Group at the Museum of Kent Rural Life in 1987 found a length of Early Iron Age ditch and bank. The ditch was 1m deep with an adjacent bank 1.3m high. An antler pick was found near the base of the ditch, dating to 795-655BC. A small hearth had been constructed in top of the ditch fills. (1)
