Full Description
In 1994 an excavation on the Medway Tunnel eastern approach was undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust. Potsherds, bone fragments, wood and leather offcuts, scrap iron and musket flint were all found having been dumped as refuse prior to dockland expansion in 1868. In 1868 a clay was dumped over the refuse to cap it and used as a platform to built the dockyard expansion on. (1)
