Monument record TQ 67 SE 301 - Probable and possible salterns, Shorne Marshes

Summary

Mounds, probably a saltmounds, and associated banks, possibly evaporation channels. Some still visible on 2016 aerial photographs. The earthwork remains may alternatively be of an oval mound thought to be a 19th century or earlier stock refuge mound, many of which were constructed on low-lying pasture within the marshlands of the Hoo Peninsula and the margins of the Thames Estuary
