Monument record TR 36 NW 51 - Double ditched enclosure cropmarks, Margate parish

Summary

A large rectangular double ditched enclosure has been sighted two kilometres to the east of Acol on aerial photographs taken in 1974. A number of features were identified within this cropmark including pit features, a number of linear features and a possible trackway. It has been suggested that this enclosure is of late Iron Age or Romano-British date. The site is scheduled as an ancient monument.
