Full Description

In 2011 Archaeology South-East maintained a watching brief on groundworks at Wyvern School, Ashford. Much of the site had been disturbed by modern truncation but in one area some ditches were found. Two ran parallel and terminated in the same area, suggesting a possible trackway. They both contained pottery of generally Late Iron Age/early Roman date but may date to after c.AD 70. The other ditches are thought to also be of Roman date. Two struck flints were found but are not diagnostic. (1)
