Full Description

In 2000 the Trust for Thanet Archaeology carried out an evaluation at Manston Airport. In Area 1 on the cargo side of the airport an open area exploration located a Roman pit with a hearth in the base. Roman pottery was found within the fill, along with mussel and oyster shells and a leaf shaped arrowhead of Neolithic date. (1)
