Full Description
In 2003 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an evaluation at Old Park, Whitfield. A large pit was found, at least 4.4m by 2m and 0.96m deep. It contained a quantity of struck and burnt flints plus a sherd of flint-tempered pottery, probably Bronze Age in date. It was suggested that this could have been a dew pond which was filled by a combination of natural silting and some dumping of domestic rubbish. (1)
