Full Description

In 2001 Canterbury Archaeological Trust carried out an excavation on Shelford Farm Estate. The area had been truncated by terracing and agricultural activity but a few shallow features had survived. Five features were found to contain Roman material but it could not be proved that this was not simply residual material in later features. There was no patterning to the distribution of the features and they may simply represent activity on the edge of the occupation found at the eastern attenuation pond. (1)
