Full Description
[TR 30006566 sited from plan] A ditch of truncated V-form, running NW-SE was cut by the Monkton gas pipeline operations in 1984. It was c1.3m across by 0.95m deep. Only a few minutes were available to investigate this feature, but animal ones, shells and some sherds of coarse early Iron Age pot fabric were obtained. (1,3)
Cropmarks of a ditch, possibly this feature were mapped from Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The ditch is c. 24m long, aligned NW-SE with a curved corner and change of direction to the NE at its SE end suggesting it may be part of an enclosure (4).
