Full Description
TR 307678 Cropmarks of Anglo Saxon burials. Cropmarks suggesting a group of Anglo Saxon burials were observed here in June 1975. (1) Additional reference (2)
Cropmarks of a scatter of sub-circular pits identified as possible graves when mapped from aerial photographs by RCHME. This site has been re-surveyed and mapped from aerial photograph (NMR 3115/140 02-JUL-1986) as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet Landscape mapping project in 2024. These pits may be part of a possible Iron Age settlement and field system TR 36 NW 156 within which they appear to be confined. Futher similar pits are visible in a cluster to the east, also within the enclosures. (3)
