Full Description

TR 357 644 (Sited to nearest 50 m). Medieval remains. Site no 173. (1) [Possible duplication of TR 36 SE 2] TR 357 644 In May 1981 when a pipe trench was being sunk through the paddock, E of the farm house of Little Cliffsend Farm, a pit or a ditch was cut by the trench. This yielded fragments of jugs, flagons with dark green glaze and pipkins with pierced rims in Tyler Hill sandy ware. All pottery belonged to the period C13-C14th. Subsequentlya medieval well shaft was found and excavated 50 m to the E. (2)
