Full Description
In 2007 Oxford Archaeology carried out a strip, map and sample excavation. At the western end of the area investigated in this phase of works, a large Pleistocene hollow was found. Worked flints from the Mesolithic to Bronze Age were found, though no concentrations were noted. Similar material was also found from the area of the Bronze Age enclosure to the east and this may therefore have been occupied in the Mesolithic and Neolithic. Three pits may have related to this activity. One pit contained a small leaf-shaped arrowhead and a flint knife. (1)
