Full Description
During Channel Tunnel Rail Link works carried out by the Museum of London Archaeology Service three groups of Iron Age pits were found. Pottery and briquetage were found within the pits. The briquetage was in the form of final transport containers, indicating salt was being brought to the area. One pit contained a near complete La Tène I brooch dated to the 4th to 3rd centuries BC. A possible awl and two sharpening tools were also found. (1)
