Full Description

In 2007/8 Wessex Archaeology carried out a programme of works. A large tree throw contained a concentration of Early Neolithic material. The finds included two leaf-shaped arrowheads and two roughouts of the same, as well as a fragment of a polished axe. The limited amount of microdebitage indicated that the material had been collected up and dumped into the hollow. A fragment of daub with wattle impressions suggests nearby occupation with structures. An additional leaf-shaped arrowhead was found in a later feature. (1)
