Full Description

In 2007/8 Wessex Archaeology carried out a programme of works. Three inhumations were found, each with the head at the southern end of the grave. One grave had contained a coffin with a pot at the foot end. Only teeth crowns remained of the skeleton. Another grave had a 1st century AD Black-Burnished bowl near the chest and was a 35-55 male. The third had two small 1st century AD jars at the southern end of the grave and remains of a small lead or pewter dish were found on the east side though no skeletal material survived. (1)
