Full Description
During excavations carried out ahead of the development of a plot of land bounded to the west by the A256 Haine Road and to the south by Stirling Way in 2007-2008, a single feature was reliably dated to the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age period. This was an elongated pit, situated in the south-west corner of the excavation area. The pit was aligned north-west to south-east and measured 1.50 in length by 0.95m wide, with a concave profile surviving to a depth of 0.38m. It contained a single homogenous fill, which yielded a group of seventeen struck flint flakes. Amongst these was material typologically attributable to the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age period.
