Summary

A pit with a lamb and a second pit with an inverted vessel, both probably of Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age date were uncovered during evaluation trenching an a watching brief that was conducted prior to the construction of a new dwelling at 25 Roayla Esplanade in Ramsgate. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information) .

Full Description

In 2003 the Trust for Thanet Archaeology carried out a watching brief. A pit was found with the remains of a lamb buried within it. This was dated to the Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age. A second pit contained flints possibly packing around fragments of an inverted shell tempered vessel of Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age date. (1)
