Full Description
TR 335 636 A pit containing Canterbury and North Kent pottery dating to C1050-1100 AD was found during rescue excavations in 1977 by the Thanet Archaeological Unit at Cottington, Cliffsend (site 2). The pottery dated to 1050-110 AD. (1) TR 336 637 During excavation of a pipe trench in 1977 a large pit withburned soil and ashes was found. It contained large sherds of Tyler Hill pottery and shell tempered pottery (11th-12th century). (2) (4)
