Full Description
Area E was a portion of the Grain-Shorne pipeline excavated in 2009.
A ring ditch of probably Early Bronze Age date was found. A pit of similar date was also found. The ring was c. 10m in diameter. No human remains were found though most of the feature lay outside of the excavation. The pit contained a small worked flint assemblage including a core reused as a hammerstone. (1-2)
