Full Description
During an archaeological evaluation undertaken at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Dover, four pointed timber stakes with the tops eroded away, were located at the north eastern end of trench 2. They were drilled into and sealed by Medieval soil deposits dating to the 13th-14th centuries. These timbers are possibly the remains of an insubstantial timber riverside revetment wall. (1-2)
