Full Description

In 2011 the Trust for Thanet Archaeology carried out an evaluation. A pit was found dating to the Middle Iron Age. It contained Middle Iron Age pottery and a few marine shells. A gully was also located and dated to the Late Iron Age. Further Iron Age pottery, Early Iron Age to Late Iron Age in date, was found in the upper fills of a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barrow ring ditch. These are thought to represent Iron Age occupation of the immediate area. (1)
