Full Description
The southern length of the Roman town wall. Upstanding elements survive in the Old Deanery and in the Cloister Garth.
In 2013 GSB Prospection carried out a Ground Penetrating Radar survey of the castle grounds. The Roman town wall was possibly detected to the south of the keep. (1)
In 2007, Alan Ward documented the plan of the Roman wall during road repaving works. (2)
