Full Description
In 2012 a large area was excavated on land to the east of the Coach and Horses on Tayne Field by a team from the University of Reading. Two medieval ditches cross Tayne Field. These probably relate to fields laid out across the site after the Saxo-Norman domestic occupation of the site had ended. They are still visible as linear depressions across the unexcavated portions of the site. (1)
