Full Description
The former site of a Second World War spigot mortar near Frith Cottage (now Copthorne) on the east side of Dover Road. A length of trench extended south east from the mortar position. Both were removed by the road works before 1990. (1)
The area Frith Cottage appears to have been defended with two possible lines of recently removed barbed wire visible on aerial photos of 1946. Frith Cottage (now Copthorne) could have been modified for defensive use as part of this.
