Full Description
In 2013 Headland Archaeology carried out an evaluation. Pits were found across the central part of the site. These contained charcoal, burnt bone, hazelnut shells, sherds of Neolithic pottery and worked flints. One pit contained 117 small sherds, including fragments from a carinated bowl and coarse ware decorated with incised lines. One pit contained a leaf shaped arrowhead. Four other pits contained pottery and worked flints of similar date. One pit was cut by a gully and another pit cut a gully. This suggests perhaps at least two phases of later prehistoric activity on the site. (1)
