Full Description
A First World War trench, with possible fortification and additional trenching on the south side, visible as a cropmark in the aerial photos of 2007 and the Google Earth image of 2007, to the north-east of Copthorne.
The trench is 127m long and the pillbox/fortification is 7m across.
A section of the trench was revealed during a watching brief on new cabling associated with the solar farm in 2015. The trench was c. 3 m wide and was traceable for 3 m. It was c. 1.2 m deep. (1)
