Full Description

A rectilinear with macular visible as a cropmark in Google Earth images 2007 to the north east of Nether Hale Farm.

It is 23m by 26m and consists of a single rectilinear enclosure with a macular on the southern face.(1)

The cropmark remians of a rectangular enclosure, possibly the remains of a medieval settlement 32m x 27m. Traces of a second possible enclosure (represented by two partial sides and a corner) is located 40m to the east. These are two of a number of similar settlement sites located just below the 5m contour at the mouth of the former Brooksend inlet (now silted up). The enclosures are generally spaced at between 100m and 150m apart along the shore. This site was mapped from aerial photographs - EARTH.GOOGLE.COM JUL-2013. ACCESSED 16-APR-2024-as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet Landscape mapping project in 2024 (2).
