Full Description

Two discreet areas of subsoil filling shallow hollows in the natural were present towards the centre of the Zone, and consisted of fairly large (up to 25m by 25m) and slightly irregular deposits of pale brown clay. They contained a moderate number of struck flints in a fresh condition, most recovered from the surface of the deposits. The majority utilised Bullhead flint and exhibited technology consistent with an early Neolithic date, though one piece was more likely late Bronze Age. A further small patch of similar soil situated between the two areas was potentially of the same date. (information summarised from source) (1-2)
