Monument record TR 36 NW 1159 - Anglo-Saxon trackway discovered during the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011)

Summary

During the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011) in zone 20 (east) , an Anglo-Saxon trackway was discovered. This was a continuation of the trackway noted to the east in zone 19 which, after two hollow ways merged, changed direction to head west (TR 36 NW 1145).

Full Description

During the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009-2011) in zone 20 (east) , an Anglo-Saxon trackway was discovered. The trackway ran broadly east-west but then swung slightly to the south-west, perhaps in the direction of Minster. This was a continuation of the trackway noted to the east in zone 19 which, after two hollow ways merged, changed direction to head west (TR 36 NW 1145). (1)
